Diwali: The Festival of Lights

Diwali is India’s much anticipated and lively festival of birth and renewal. Also known as “The Festival of Lights,” this joyous six-day celebration is observed as a national holiday, bringing family and friends together from near and far. Lanterns and festive lights abound, representing purity and spiritual enlightenment.

Sequoia Productions’ long time friend and supporter, Tracy Yach, moved to India with her family several years ago and immediately embraced the Indian culture. Tracy is a fabulous cook and looks for any opportunity to entertain in her home with family and friends. For Diwali, Tracy has a spectacular dinner planned. One of her traditions is to send guests home with sweet memories of a wonderful dinner by placing treats in a box decorated with Rangoli Art and a note thanking them for attending. Tracy shares some recipes with us for the Indian sweets Jalebi and Gulab Jamun!

Non-Traditional Fall Wedding

While weddings can be a way to honor family and cultural traditions, they can also be an opportunity to create your own unique experience and memories.

This elegant daytime outdoor reception in Los Angeles featured comfortable lounge furniture, coffee tables and ottomans.  This  created the opportunity for guests to mingle and connect in a relaxed and casual environment.

The bride and groom decided on rich autumn tones that were reflected in the florals which played off well against the chocolate brown and tan furniture.

Join Sequoia Productions this week on Celebrate! as we showcase elements of a Non-Traditional Fall Wedding such as menus and entertaining tips!

Children’s Hospital Los Angeles “Dream For Kids” Event

For the past 8 years, The Sequoia Productions Creative Department has grown to become one of the most important aspects of the comprehensive service we provide. “The evolution of our Creative Department is due, in large part, to the growing phenomenon of sponsorship becoming a major source of Special Event funding,” says Olivia Yu, Sequoia Productions’ Creative Communications Director. Successful event planning often incorporates branding as an important element, and yet “immerses guests into an integrated experience, where they do not feel like they are being sold something,” remarks Olivia.

A great example of Special Event Branding is the “Dream For Kids” gala event commemorating the opening of the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles’ state-of-the-art medical building in Los Angeles, produced by Sequoia Productions. This celebration offered an excellent opportunity for CHLA to introduce their completely revised brand to the public.  (more…)
