Candy Cane Swirl Cocktail

One of the trends we love is the recent discovery and embracing of artisanal cocktails – both in restaurants and in entertaining. A lovely selection of wine goes a long way but that specialty cocktail can be an unexpected surprise that will delight your guests and set your party apart. This cocktail was a huge hit at past holiday parties and you can have fun with it at your own holiday fete.

Ingredients:

  • 4 oz. Raspberry Vodka
  • 12 oz. cranberry juice
  • 2 oz.Grenadine
  • 2 oz. Peppermint Schnapps
  • Lemon Lime soda

Candy Cane Cocktail** Additionally, you will need approximately 2 candy canes per drink (one for crushing, one for garnish).

This recipe was initially written for one serving, but I find those “1/2 ounce” ingredient breakdowns silly. Who makes ONE drink at a party? I recalculated and now this makes a pitcher of four festive cocktails!

Here’s what you do;

Rim four martini glasses with crushed candy cane. Combine the vodka, Peppermint Schnapps, cranberry juice and grenadine into a tall martini pitcher and stir. Pour into prepared glasses and top with a splash of lemon-lime soda. Finish with a mini-candy cane for a jaunty version of a swizzle stick. Offer these to your guests and get started on the next batch – because these are sure to be a hit.
